On behalf of Eurostat, we have the pleasure to announce the launch of the European Statistics Awards on Web Intelligence - Classification of occupations for online job advertisements challenge (WI Classification Challenge) starting on 1 June 2024.   It will focus on the development of approaches that learn how to assign a class label (from a known taxonomy) to job advertisement from a given job ads dataset.

We believe that the researchers in your country (in particular data scientists) would be most interested in signing up for this opportunity.  

The teams (1-5 persons per team) will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge of Web Intelligence and programming skills (in particular in Python and R) to a real use case and win €10 000 for the first place in the Accuracy award, €10 000 for the first place in the Reusability award and €5 000 for the first place in the Innovativity award. Striking first place for all three awards, the team could win up to €25 000.  

We would therefore appreciate if you could:  

- post the announcement (below), flyer and a link to the European Statistics Awards homepage, on your website;  

- distribute the announcement (below) and flyer to your mailing lists (via a newsletter or a mail message);

Eurostat is pleased to announce the Web Intelligence Competition - Classification of occupations for online job advertisements challenge (WI Classification Challenge) - within the European Statistics Awards Program starting in June 2024. The competition aims at stimulating innovation in the area of Web Intelligence for European statistics. The Classification Challenge focuses on the development of approaches that learn how to assign a class label (from a known taxonomy) to job advertisement from a given job ads dataset.

Do you know how to code in Python or R? Register by the 15th of July 2024 and try your chances on your own or with a team of peers. You can win up to €10 000 for the Accuracy award, €10 000 for the Reusability award and €5 000 for Innovativity award. Striking first place in all three categories, your team could win up to €25 000.

Balkathon е регионален онлајн натпревар организиран од RCC од 2020 година. Balkathon 5.0 ќе се фокусира на нови, иновативни и бизнис-ориентирани дигитални идеи и решенија. Отворен е за тимови составени од луѓе до 35 години кои доаѓаат од Западен Балкан, а особено ги охрабрува да аплицираат и средношколските тимови. Ако сакате да ги претворите вашите идеи во ремек-дела, вие сте на вистинското место. Пријавете се со вашата идеја за Balkathon 5.0 и освојте една од наградите од наградниот фонд од 50.000 евра.

 

  • Учесниците можат да се пријават само како тим;
  • Тимовите се охрабруваат да бидат составени од членови кои живеат во повеќе од една економија (држава) од Западен Балкан;
  • Членовите на тимот не треба да бидат постари од 35 години;
  • Тимовите кои се натпреваруваат за главната награда се охрабруваат да бидат составени од квалификувани поединци како што се студенти; правни лица, вклучително и старт-ап; и невладини и образовни институции;
  • Тимовите од средните училишта можат да бидат составени како група средношколци од исти или различни средни училишта, со најмногу 7 члена.

Почитувани студенти,

Сите студенти кои слушале предмети во учебната 2023/2024 година, освен анкетите за евалуација на професори по предмети, задолжително треба да ја пополнат и анкетата за евалуација на факултетот која е поставена на anketi.ukim.mk, во делот Активни анкети - „за факултет“.

За најава на системот треба да се користи корисничкото име и лозинката од iKnow (пред да започнете со најава, потребно е да ја обновите вашата лозинка за профилот на iKnow).

Анкетите за самоевалуација се законска обврска и соодветно пополнувањето на истите е услов за заверка на претходниот и упис на следниот семестар.

Рокот за пополнување на анкетата е заклучно до 30.06.2024 година.

Доколку не ја пополните анкетата до зададениот рок, истото ќе мора да го направите при носење на документите за упис на семестарот со уплата на соодветна казна.

Ни претставува голема чест и задоволство, како ценета и реномирана образовна институција да ве информираме дека А1 Македонија и оваа година, четврти пат по ред ја имплементира  програмата за платена пракса, A1 WayUp.

Во оваа прилика го најавуваме почетокот на пријавувањето за сите заинтересирани кандидати кои ги исполнуваат условите. Повикот е отворен за 10 дипломци кои дипломирале во последните 12 месеци или кои годинава ќе ги завршат своите студии, а својата кариера сакаат да ја градат во А1 Македонија во една од следниве области: автоматизација, анализа на податоци, визуелизација на податоци, ИТ Инфраструктура, Бизнис Маркетинг, Технички сервиси и др.

Доколку бидат избрани, кандидатите ќе имаат можност да започнат да го градат својот кариерен пат со работа на реални проекти заедно со нашите искусни тимови, од кои ќе добијат целосна поддршка и едукација за да ги усовршат своите знаења и да стекнат нови вештини.

Периодот за аплицирање започнува од 25 јуни и трае до 28 јули 2024 година, а сите заинтересирани може да испратат кратка биографија и преку формулар да се пријават за една од позициите предвидени во оваа програма. Процесот на селекција ќе се изврши во согласност со потребните компетенции и вештини на кандидатите, дополнителна евалуација на компетенции и тестови за лични карактеристики, а селектираните кандидати ќе бидат повикани на финално интервју за детално запознавање со сите услови за работа.

Програмата е платена и трае 6 месеци, со полно работно време од 40 часа, а започнува на 01.10.2024. Практикантите ќе имаат можност да работат на проекти поврзани со автоматизација, анализа на податоци и визуелизација, мрежна инфраструктура, Бизнис маркетинг, Технички сервиси и др.

Целта на A1 WayUp е да им пружи на младите богато работно искуство исполнето со предизвици во најактуелните теми на денешницата – Data, IT, Cloud & Infrastructure итн. Веруваме дека оваа програма би била интересна за Вашите студенти, па затоа би сакале да Ве замолиме да ги известите преку Вашите канали за комуникација и да ги мотивирате да аплицираат за програмата.

Избор на студиска програма

The Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) offers prospective students the opportunity to choose from multiple study programs, which candidates rank according to their own priorities and ambitions. When applying for enrollment at FCSE, the candidate specifies their primary choice of study program, and then has the option to list additional programs in order of priority. This ensures that if the candidate's high school points are insufficient for their primary choice, they can still be considered for other preferred programs.

If a candidate does not have enough points to enroll in the state quota for their primary choice, they can opt for co-financed studies in the same program.

If a candidate is not ranked for their primary choice, the next steps follow the priority list of other study programs created by the candidate. In the ranking process, the candidate's expressed preferences take precedence over calculated points. For example, Candidate A who chose study program X as their primary choice and has 85 points will have priority over Candidate B who chose study program Y as their primary choice but has 90 points, which are insufficient for program Y, and listed program X as an additional choice.

Candidates with Inappropriate Subjects Can Also Apply in All Admission Deadlines
 
 
In addition to candidates with appropriate subjects from the state matura, those who have inappropriate external and internal subjects can also enroll in all admission deadlines at FCSE. Candidates who have not passed the appropriate external and internal subjects will have a different formula for calculating their points from the matura and their success in secondary education.
 
 
For Candidates Who Took the State Matura Starting from 2020/2021 to the Current Year
 
 
Appropriate external and internal subjects from the matura for candidates applying to the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering are:
  • Appropriate External Subjects:
    • Native language (Macedonian, Albanian, or Turkish)
    • One of the elective external subjects must be mathematics
  • Appropriate Internal Subjects:
    • No restrictions for internal subjects
For Candidates Who Took the State Matura from the 2013/2014 to the 2018/2019 Academic Year
 
 
Appropriate external and internal subjects from the matura for candidates applying to the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering are:
  • Appropriate External Subjects:
    • Native language (Macedonian, Albanian, or Turkish)
    • One of the elective external subjects must be mathematics
  • Appropriate Internal Subjects:
    • No restrictions for internal subjects

Regarding the choice of internal subjects, there is no difference in the points based on which subject is chosen.

We would also like to emphasize that the topic covered in the project task does not play a role in the enrollment; only the grade received for it is considered.

For Candidates Who Took the State Matura Up to and Including the 2012/2013 Academic Year
 
 
Appropriate external and internal subjects from the matura for candidates applying to the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering are:
  • Appropriate External Subjects:
    • ​Native language (Macedonian, Albanian, or Turkish)
    • Mathematics (at least basic level)*
  • Appropriate Internal Subjects for High Schools:
    • ​Physics, Informatics**, or a Foreign Language (at least one, but can be two subjects)
    • One elective subject (one of the above-mentioned subjects or a completely different subject)
  • Appropriate Internal Subjects for Vocational High Schools:
    • Physics, Informatics**, or a Foreign Language (at least one, but can be two subjects)
    • One vocational subject, according to the educational profile, chosen by the candidate (one of the above-mentioned subjects or a completely different subject)
 
For Candidates Who Graduated Secondary Education in the 2019/20 Academic Year, or Before the 2007/2008 Academic Year and Did Not Take the State Matura
  • Appropriate External Subjects:
    • Chosen by the candidates: mathematics, physics, basics of electrical engineering, informatics.
  • Appropriate Internal Subjects:
    • Chosen by the candidates: mathematics, physics, basics of electrical engineering, informatics.

 

*Candidates who take advanced level mathematics as an external subject will have equal treatment regarding the points obtained as those who took basic level mathematics.
 
 
**Subjects content-equivalent to informatics, such as programming, digital systems, digital electronics and microprocessors, informatics and information technology, etc., are considered appropriate for enrollment at FCSE, just like the subject informatics itself.
 
 
Regarding the choice of internal subjects, there is no difference in the points based on which two subjects from the offered ones are chosen.
 
 
We would also like to emphasize that the topic covered in the project task does not play a role in the enrollment; only the grade received for it is considered.

Points Calculation

The primary criterion for the selection of candidates for enrollment in the first cycle of studies is the success achieved in secondary education. The evaluation of the candidates' success is expressed in points.

The method for calculating the points is detailed in the Competition, in point 5 of subchapter II: Conditions and Criteria for Enrollment (beginning on page 8).

 

The most relevant points calculation is obtained by completing the enrollment application on the enrollment portal.

Scholarships

The Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) will award scholarships for studying to all candidates who win first, second, or third place in a national competition in informatics, mathematics, or physics, as well as to all candidates who win first, second, or third place in an international competition in these fields. For the top graduates, the scholarship will be valid throughout their studies, provided they maintain an average grade above 9 and complete their studies on time.

All candidates who have received scholarship certificates from FCSE must bring them at the time of enrollment at the Faculty. All candidates who do not have such a document but have awards from national or international competitions and Olympiads in informatics, mathematics, or physics, should submit them when applying for enrollment at the Faculty. After reviewing the diplomas, candidates will receive a response from the FCSE Enrollment Commission on whether they will be granted a tuition fee waiver and whether it will be full or partial.
