Aim of the program: 

To introduce the student to basics of Boolean algebra, its role and application in computer sciences and informatics technologies. To overcome the basic counting techniques and learn how to apply them in solving practical problems. To learn to solve recurrence relations. To introduce students to matrices and matrix algebra and systems of linear equations. To learn the terminology in graph theory and how to apply graphs in modelling and solving practical problems in computer sciences.

Aim of the program: 

To introduce students to basic elements of discrete mathematics as a foundation of computer sciences and new technologies. In this context students should learn how to apply the formal methods of propositional and predicate logic in modeling situations from real life including those in the field of computer sciences. To learn and apply basic proof methods and the methods of mathematical induction. To explain with examples the terminology, operations in the theory of sets, functions and relations and their application.

Distributed systems

Aim of the program: 

The aim of the course is to provide introductory knowledge on selected topics in the field of distributed computer systems. Students will be introduced to state-of-the-art distributed system architectures with a special focus on the inter-process communications (IPC) in distributed computer systems. Students will learn and acquire a deeper understanding of the challenges and approaches in designing distributed computer systems and with the provided assignments they will be trained to developed practical skills for implementing client-server-based distributed applications using the current IPC technologies.

Intelligent systems

Aim of the program: 

The aim of the course is to provide introductory knowledge on selected topics in the field of intelligent systems. It introduces the basic techniques of machine learning, data mining, cognitive science, natural language processing, as well as application the area of bioinformatics. Students will learn and acquire a deeper understanding of the challenges and approaches in designing intelligent systems and with the provided assignments they will be trained to developed practical skills for solving concrete classification and prediction systems.

Aim of the program: 

Introduction to key elements for the development of marketing strategy and planning marketing program Developing skills for solving marketing problems through set of analytical tools (frames, concepts, models and techniques) Presentation of case studies how companies from different industries organize their marketing Integrating e-marketing into the overall marketing strategy Assessment of the content and structure of web pages against business objectives Application of the latest techniques in intenet marketing communications, such as viral marketing, blogs or social networks marketing.
